Beijing without the Bling

There are two worlds in China… the old, which you can almost imagine happening in black and white like an ancient movie… and the sparkly colourful loud new.

Having been in Beijing twice before, I had no ‘should’ sees or does.. which was great.  I let myself work on my lists from home,  sleep, sweat, and flail. Rest after chaos is like falling off a ledge.

I stayed in a familiar hostel in a familiar street, bought my cheaper-here water from ‘that’ shop, my dumpling brunch from this. I just breathed in the Beijing I love.

My camera has died so I am using my phone for now. Here are some pics of ‘my’ street in Beijing. Bustle and quiet depending on where you look.
